91自拍 Celebrates its 2025-2026 Top Scholars

The 91自拍 (91自拍) is pleased to announce its 2026 Top Scholars, the graduating students who had the highest average in their secondary school.

This year, the 91自拍 is recognizing 19 outstanding students as Top Scholars, including four students who graduated with perfect 100 per cent averages:

  • Sophie Leila Kaci graduated from Father Bressani Catholic High School in Woodbridge, Ont. She wants to make a positive impact on the world, and in September, she will enter the Life Sciences program at the University of Toronto.
  • Victoria April Rinaldi also graduated from Father Bressani CHS. She will study in York University鈥檚 Kinesiology and Health Science program, and she hopes to attend dentistry or medical school in the future so she can help others.
  • Kaitlyn Tran, who also graduated from Father Bressani CHS, will attend the Health Sciences program at Queen鈥檚 University. She loves science and hopes to be a doctor one day.
  • Hong Yi (Eric) Wang graduated from St. Theresa of Lisieux CHS in Richmond Hill, and will attend Yale University, where he will major in both Computer Science and Economics. He hopes to combine his passion for computer science and entrepreneurship to build technology that has a meaningful impact on people鈥檚 lives.

鈥淐ongratulations to the 91自拍鈥檚 Top Scholars and to all of our graduates,鈥 said Jennifer Sarna, 91自拍 Interim Chief Executive Officer. 鈥淓very day, the 91自拍鈥檚 staff have the privilege of working with incredible young people who want to use their God-given talents to make the world a better place. These students are wonderful examples of what is possible when a community comes together to support a child鈥檚 education.鈥

91自拍 Top Scholars are the students with the highest average at their secondary school, based on the average of their top six grade 12 courses.

Graduating from secondary school is a massive milestone in a young person’s life. In June, the 91自拍 celebrated its newest alumni at graduation ceremonies throughout the board. The 91自拍 is proud of all its graduating students and is excited to continue celebrating them throughout their life journeys.

The 91自拍鈥檚 2026-27 Budget /the-ycdsbs-2026-27-budget/ Thu, 02 Jul 2026 18:00:27 +0000 /?p=70133 Continue reading "The 91自拍鈥檚 2026-27 Budget"]]> Colourful books and pencils on a desk with the 91自拍 logo and the words "The 91自拍's 2026-27 Budget" appearing to the side

The 91自拍 (91自拍) has released its 2026-27 budget, which focuses on putting students first and starting the process of returning the board to financial stability.听

This budget takes a measured approach to addressing the 91自拍鈥檚 deficit. There are several small operational adjustments that respond to declining enrolment and the current needs in our classrooms.听

For example, where student enrolment is declining, support staff numbers will be adjusted to more closely align with provincial funding. There will be a small number of staffing adjustments at the board鈥檚 central office, which have already been communicated to affected individuals.

All these decisions were made only after carefully determining there would be minimal impact on students.

Some highlights from the 2026-27 school year include:

  • The 91自拍 estimates it will run a $6.8 million deficit on $745.1 million in operating expenses聽
  • This is an improvement on estimated deficit of $9.3 million for the 2025-26 school year
  • Overall, the 91自拍鈥檚 student enrolment is expected to decline by 460 students in the 2026-27 school year, with 780 fewer students in elementary schools and 320 more students in secondary schools

You can read more about the 91自拍鈥檚 2026-27 budget by clicking here.听

There is more work to be done to return the board to financial stability. However, the 91自拍鈥檚 priority will always be helping students reach their full potential.听

The Senior Team of the 91自拍 thanks everyone who participated in the budget consultation, as well as the Ministry of Education staff for their collaboration throughout the budget making process.听

91自拍 Launches Student and Family Support Office

The 91自拍 (91自拍) has launched a new resource to help families better navigate their child鈥檚 educational journey. This office is an additional point of contact that makes it easier for students and parents/guardians to access support, bring questions to the right person and receive timely updates.

What Is the Student and Family Support Office?

This office will help students and parents/guardians who are seeking support or guidance related to a student鈥檚 education, particularly when a concern is complex, unresolved or cannot be addressed at the school level.
The Ministry of Education has directed all school boards to create a local Student and Family Support Office.

How Can the Office Help?

The Student and Family Support Office can support you when:

  • A concern has not been resolved after speaking with school staff
  • Guidance is needed on who can assist with more complex or sensitive matters
  • Central school board support is needed beyond what the school can provide

In these cases, the Student and Family Support Office can connect you with your area superintendent and support matters that may require further escalation. We can also direct your inquiry to the appropriate 91自拍 department for support, where needed. These are just two examples of how the office can help.

Start With Your Child’s School

For most day-to-day questions or concerns, communicating with your child’s teacher or principal is the quickest and best option. Before contacting the Student and Family Support Office, we encourage families to bring the issue to their school directly.

How to Contact the Student and Family Support Office

Starting today, you can contact the Student and Family Support Office through:

  • Email: supportoffice@ycdsb.ca
  • Phone: (289) 453-0097
  • Online:
  • A link will also be available on and on every school website

More information on the Student and Family Support Office is available on its website: .
As a Catholic learning community, the 91自拍 believes in providing every student with the best possible educational experience. We are pleased that the Student and Family Support Office will provide another opportunity to answer our community鈥檚 questions and help our students thrive.
